NDP MPP calls for action to stop billionaire corporation from buying up single-family homes

TORONTO – NDP Housing critic MPP Jessica Bell (University–Rosedale) is calling on Doug Ford to take action to stop a corporation from buying up $1 billion in single family homes across Southern Ontario – contributing to the massive driving up of house prices.

Core Development Group plans to convert those single-family homes to two-family rental units.

Bell has sent a letter to Doug Ford demanding action, including the adoption of NDP plans to prevent housing speculators from forever pricing families out of the dream of home ownership.
