Ford must stop OLG executive bonuses: NDP

WINDSOR — The NDP has obtained a memo confirming that OLG executives will still take their annual bonuses, despite layoffs of casino staff, and a $500 million cash injection from the province to keep the organization afloat during the pandemic. NDP OLG critic Percy Hatfield released the following statement:

“Doug Ford gave OLG $500 million to keep it afloat during COVID-19, but can’t seem to find any money for a safe restart of our schools. He also appointed the current board chair, Peter Deeb, who previously served as the chair of his party’s own PC Ontario Fund. It doesn’t make sense to use that money to pay big bonuses to big boss executives. Casino workers have been laid off — and for those struggling to keep their rent paid and their cupboards from going bare, these bonuses for top executives are a slap in the face.”
